How to Kill the Red Page of DOOOOOM!

calendar_today March 9, 2013

Okay, as we all know, the site has been testing clean all along, on various sites which check this, such as Norton and McAfee.  Not to mention the service we're now subscribed to.

So, I kept seeing where the malware warning was showing adultfanfictionnet.net as the actual culprit.  Thing is, it's a pointer domain with NO FILES ON IT.  Not anywhere.  So, that being the case, with it being a domain with no files, it shouldn't kick ANY kind of error.

Searched the entire site, to see if there were still some paths floating around from last September when we bought the domain when this one expired.  I found them, and changed them back to the domain path.  By the way, there never was any sort of linking in any file to "edithfilms.ch" whatever the hell THAT is.

Anyway, now that the paths no longer exist, Chrome users need to CLOSE Chrome, and then restart it.  You should no longer see the warning.

Please let me know if you do.

We just keep chugging along!

calendar_today November 5, 2012

Hey everyone!  I should apologize - We didn't put news up last month and I'm a day late this month.  Here's the thing though:  Nothing's going on!  The site is chugging along and there is no huge news that it's important to share.  That being said, as my life is getting busier (Holidays, fiancee coming home, wedding, cross country move, school, etc) and the site is settling into nice steady groove, we've made a decision to only post the news when necessary.  I'm shooting for a quick update every 3-4 months, but if there's not something going on, I won't take up your time or mine!

As things come up we will make sure to keep you up to date and we will ensure that the donations page and moderation status is kept current.

If you have any questions, please feel free to let us know!

15 minute approximate down time for server tonight

calendar_today September 30, 2012

From Nexcess:

Our data center technicians have discovered a failing RAM module in the dedicated server that you have with us, affnet.nexcess.net. In our ongoing strive for reliable hosting, we continually monitor servers to ensure the hardware stays operating at it's high capacity. We'll be bringing the server down tonight between the hours of 12pm (midnight) and 2:30am EST for no longer than 15 minutes to remove the bad RAM and replace it with new a RAM chip to bring the server back up to 100% performance. We apologize for the brief downtime and as always with any scheduled maintenance, we'll make sure to perform it quickly and get the server back up and running as quickly as possible
